Biotech Fluidics has recently introduced the SPEedy™ device that simplifies solid phase extraction (SPE) sample preparation procedures. This invention is both small and clever as it enables SPE protocols with any adsorption chemistry and eluent composition. Instead of relying on bulky external sources of vacuum or pressure to transport the sample and eluent through the cartridge bed, an ingeniously designed plunger combined with a one-way valve ensures movement of fluid in an exceptionally controlled manner.
