The SPEedy™ device from Biotech Fluidics introduces a new and simplified way to perform Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) sample preparation procedures with any type of adsorption chemistry and eluent composition. SPEedy™ is so small it will fit in your lab coat pocket, yet so powerful it will accomplish complete SPE procedures within minutes.

The ingenuity of the SPEedy™ device allows you to have full control of the flow rate and volume during loading of each sample and throughout every step of washing and elution without applying external vacuum or pressure since the movement of the SPEedy™ piston regulates these parameters. This means no risk for accidental evaporation or precipitation of your sample. Since every sample has its own flow path and stays in solution, the hazard of clogging is reduced and any risk for cross contamination is negligible.
With SPEedy™ you have no more hassle with heavy manual manifolds connected to questionable vacuum sources, and you do not need to purchase any expensive positive pressure laboratory instruments that require constant gas supply.

The SPEedy™ process
The ingenious design of the SPEedy™ piston ensures that its upward movement creates just the amount of vacuum required to transfer liquid through the SPE bed while the one-way check valve prevents any air leakage or back flow. Similarly, the downward movement of the SPEedy™ piston creates a sufficient positive pressure to displace the exit liquid trough the one-way check valve into a collection vial or to waste. After this, the SPE cartridge is ready for another wash cycle or sample elution.
