Cost-efficient fittings that are easy to use
The IDEX Flangeless™ Fittings are easy to use, provide adequate sealing in many situations, and are available for several flat-bottom port designs and many different tubing outer diameters. These fittings eliminate the need to flanged tubing and are a cost-effective alternative due to their few components and quick replacement.
The Flangeless™ Fittings system has a wide selection of nuts for the popular 1/4-28 and M6x1 port designs, and some nuts are even provided in different colours. Nuts are also available for the narrower 10-32 flat-bottom ports, plus large bore versions for 5/16-24 and 1/2-20 port threads. The nuts come with different head designs to accommodate a variety of assembly situations, and are manufactured from either the polymeric materials Delrin (an acetal polymer also known as polyoxymethylene, POM), PEEK, ETFE, PPS, PFA, PP, or stainless steel.
The ferrules for the Flangeless™ Fittings system are made from ETFE and can accommodate an unmatched range of tubing outer diameters including 1/16”, 1/8”, 3/16”, 1/4”, and 5/16”, plus metric sizes 1.8, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, and 4.0 mm. In addition, a special low-profile ferrule for 1/4-28 ports is also available for 1/16” and 1/8” OD tubing, which can be especially suitable for shallow receiving ports such as those used on some low-pressure valves.
The pressure rating depends on tubing diameter, port design, and type of ferrule used, and range from 250 psi (17 bar) up to 2500 psi (172 bar) for the Flangeless™ Fittings. In tests, it has been shown that the ideal amount of torque to achieve expected part performance should be approximately 3–4 in-lbs (0.34–0.45 N·m).
