Vacuum Controller

With the series of DEGASi^® Vacuum Controllers, Biotech Fluidics introduces a complete set of components to achieve and regulate high performance vacuum within almost any inline degasser construction. These controller assemblies provide an extremely silent operation with about thirty percent longer life expectancy compared to traditional constructions.

The DEGASi^® Vacuum Controller assemblies are perfect for designing new inline degassers to be incorporated into fluidic systems for analysis or processing of a vast variety of fluids under a range of flow rate conditions. These vacuum controllers are also emerging as the first choice for repairing or upgrading legacy constructions since they can be retrofitted into most degasser assemblies from Biotech Fluidics and many other brands incorporating legacy Systec or IDEX vacuum pumps.

Description

The DEGASi^® Vacuum Controllers incorporate the next generation IDEX Gen5 StabiliX™ vacuum pumps, combined with a new intelligent closed-loop regulation controller board, pre-programmed to a variety of vacuum set points to fit different applications. These assemblies conform to all modern regulating algorithms to accomplish dual-stage vacuum and zero hysteresis operation to minimize noise and wear, while maximizing performance, stability, and lifetime of an inline degasser.

The available vacuum setpoints for the DEGASi^® Vacuum Controllers include 50, 60, 80, 120 or 200 mmHg to accommodate a range of different degasser creations. The full controller assemblies incorporate the IDEX Gen5 StabiliX™ vacuum pumps which are available with capacity for either analytical or preparative scale flow rates and can be delivered in bottom or side mount versions. The DEGASi^® Vacuum Controllers thus fit all types of physical layout constraints in new instrument designs and can also be retrofitted into a plenitude of legacy degassers from many different brands.

Typically, all problems with bubble formation are eliminated when 40-50% of the dissolved gases are removed, which often can be critical in analytical systems as well as dispensing applications. The removal of dissolved gases from liquid chromatography mobile phases reduces retention time shifts and improves baseline stability, while also reducing the level of oxygen which otherwise can interfere with detection techniques such as UV absorption and fluorescence.
