Intuitive™ torque-limiting fitting
A unique patented fingertight fitting with click feedback
The innovative Intuitive™ fitting system from IDEX provides trouble-free low-pressure connections every time. This is especially useful in places where you frequently exchange fluid path components, such as when connecting flash columns, in-line filters and eluent bottles.
The Intuitive™ fitting has a patented self-adjusting torque-limiting nut for low pressure applications, and provides a haptic feedback click when it has been sufficiently tightened. You never again have to worry about leaking connections, nor about overtightening and squeezing tubes or damaging ports. The click feedback is built to work for at least 80 repeated assemblies and is thus ideal in positions where components are exchanged frequently.
Although the Intuitive™ fitting is compatible with several ferrule designs, as well as legacy flanged tubing ends, Biotech Fluidics recommends using the Intuitive™ fittings together with Super Flangeless™ ferrules (e.g. P-259 & P-359). This combination provides the highest sealing capabilities and maximises the ability to repeatedly reseal connections with the Intuitive™ fittings into 1/4-28 UNF flat-bottom ports. The Intuitive™ fittings is available in two variants (LP-200 & LP-300), designed for 1/16” and 1/8” OD tubing, respectively. We are confident that this is the most easy-to-use, flexible, and intuitive low-pressure fitting system available.
