BioTight™ fittings
New biocompatible fitting system for tight spaces
The newly introduced IDEX BioTight™ fitting system provides consistent biocompatible performance in low-pressure 1/4-28 flat-bottom port assemblies. These fittings are ideal for tight spaces and require very little torque thanks to the metal-free press-fit ferrules made from PEEK. One universal BioTight™ PEEK nut accommodates all tubing diameters, and the fitting assemblies are pressure stable up to 200 psi (14 bar) for 1/16” OD tubing, and up to 100 psi (7 bar) for 1/8” OD tubing.
The BioTight™ fittings are easy to install into tight spaces and guarantees a completely metal-free connection. The low torque ensures that the fittings can be reassembled numerous times both with rigid and semi-rigid tubing materials. These features make the BioTight™ fittings ideal for low-pressure biotechnology fluidic applications such as, genomics, spatial biology, next generation sequencing, invitro diagnostics, and biochromatography.
Installation guide
Instructions
- Slide the fitting onto your tubing and add the black-coloured lock ring, ensuring the ridge feature faces the fitting for 1/8-inch tubing.
- Slide the ferrule tube onto your tubing.
- Place the components into your intended port, inserting the port thread into the fitting while keeping pressure on the tube.
- Tighten the nut. Continue until you feel the lock ring bottom-out in the port. It’s that simple.
