Traditional fittings for fluoropolymer tubing
Flanged fittings were the traditional way of connecting fluoropolymer tubing into flat-bottom ports. Nowadays, Biotech Fluidics do recommend using more modern fitting designs for liquid flow paths in precision fluidic systems but anyway keep this product line to support maintenance of older constructions.
The drawback with Flanged fittings it that the tubing ends need to be melted into flat disks (in a process known as flanging) for the connections to seal properly. This process is slow and today more modern fitting designs such as the Super Flangeless™ and Flangeless™ have mostly replaced flanged fittings in fluidic system assemblies.
- For 1/16” & 1/8″ OD tubing connections into 1/4-28 or M6x1 flat-bottom ports
- Requires flanging of tubing ends to seal
