For PFAS-free degassing of aqueous solutions

The new Life science degassing chamber DGU-020 is an attractive degassing design for equipment processing aqueous solutions at flow rates from 5 up to 20 mL/min (80-330 µL/s). By employing a silicone-type tubular membrane, this chamber quickly accomplishes highly efficient degassing of aqueous solutions in a construction totally free from metals and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are often encountered in the type of degassers that are designed for organic solvents.

The PFAS-free core functional element of the DGU-020 degassing chamber was invented to efficiently remove dissolved gases from aqueous fluids before they outgas and form bubbles that impact precision dispensing or interfering with detection. Its silicon-based biocompatible flow path is designed for life science applications such as benchtop clinical chemistry, benchtop immunoassays, flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing (NGS), spatial biology, and proteomics. This new degassing chamber is thus highly suitable for environmental, food, healthcare, and biotechnology labs.

The internal fluid pathway of the silicone-based Life science degassing chamber consists of parallel circular tubes that are efficiently swept, thereby providing short startup times and minimizing memory effects. The wetted materials are Vinyl methyl silicone (VMQ), Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), and Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). The degassing chamber has an internal volume of 2.1 mL, is equipped with female 1/4-28 UNF threaded flat-bottom ports for easy connection to your fluidic system, and fully compatible with RoHS and REACH requirements. The DGU-020 degassing chamber is intended for neutral aqueous solutions and not compatible with organic solvents in higher concentrations, nor with pH conditions away from the neutral realm. Moreover, are liquid delivery pumps with high vibration, such as diaphragm pumps, not recommended to be used with this degassing chamber.

The DGU-020 degassing chamber can be incorporated into the custom designed OEM degassers constructed and supplied by Biotech Fluidics, or replace chambers in existing degassing systems that employ a PID-controlled vacuum pump.
